Description: This post was made to help you know whether or not you should get a website redesign.
Wait, WHERE ON EARTH HAVE YOU BEEN?!
Uh, what are you talking about?
IT’S BEEN 2 MONTHS OWEN!!!
Oh, right….
WHERE WERE YOU?!
Okay, I should start with that. Obviously, it’s been a while since I posted on this website. Part of that is due to how tired I was last month, I had a lot to do because of Christmas coming up. Because of that, I’ve been missing a few blog posts and it ended up with me not posting for a month. In other words, consider this my apology. Now, with that out of the way, let’s talk about the topic for today.
Welp, this is Boring. Time for a Website Redesign!

So nobody wants to have a boring website. But how does one not have a boring website? Well with a website redesign, obviously. One of the main ways developers keep their projects alive and well is with updates and new things for the viewer to consider. Blogs are a great tool for this, and news channels like CNN, FOX, and NBC News all use blogs to keep their websites updated and users updated. There also a good way to just vent stuff if you feel tired while developing (hey, that’s me).
Updates and Content

Content is a big factor in updates, and it’s important to add the appropriate amount of content for your website. The content you should add depends on how much you need to change about your website. It can also be determined by how many bugs or problems your website is experiencing. This is a good sign that you need a website redesign. This also brings us to our next topic, bug fixes.
Wow! Nothing Works

If your website has bugs, glitches, or has been hacked, that’s a good sign that your website needs an update. Updates are also a way for Developers to fix problems with their website. This way, people can knock out a bunch of problems with their website in one go. In video game culture, we call these patch updates (like patching up a hole in a blanket). There are also a few ways to fix these problems that devs use.
Hard Coding
Some devs simply code out any problems with the website. However, it’s not as easy as it seems. Hard coding only works for mishaps in coding or coding errors. So it’s not something that can be used for every problem
Protection Software
This is mainly used to counter hackers and anyone trying to break the website. Other protection software can be used to age-restrict certain things on the website. So they can essentially be used as a child safety lock.
Backups
I can not stress enough how crucial it is to use backups. These can be life savers for new developers who want to undo mistakes and/or fix their websites. It can also be used as a defense against cyber attacks.
Conclusion

Updates can be a challenge for most new developers (including me). But the important thing to note is that updates are meant to be tools for devs to use to help their website, not something you should be pressured to do all the time. You should only update your website when you need to. A good way to do this is to add a comment section to see what your users think (here’s a tutorial on how to do that with hard coding, and with WordPress). But for now, that’s all I have to offer. Have a great day!

(P.S. It’s good to be back. Sorry I was gone for so long)
