Description: This post is meant to teach you what Browser Cache and cookies are and how to clear them for your safety. This is mainly meant for newcomers to the internet, if you already know how to do this stuff, why are you even here bro?
So what is Browser Cache?

Browser Cache is a tool that is used by websites to save changes a user makes to the website. It’s a simple tool that helps users a lot with accounts, games, and videos. It’s like saving in an RPG if you’ve ever played one of those. It can also help web developers with making changes by saving what they’ve worked on. They do this through these things called cookies, which monitor what you do on a website to remember it for later (of course most ask for your consent before watching everything you do). That said, there are some problems with this system.

The Problem with Cookies
There are actually a few problems with this system, and some of them can make some websites downright dangerous to use. The first one is one we kind of skimmed over while talking about what cookies are. Cookies can essentially see whatever you do, see, or look at on the web. And they share this with the people who made the website. This can lead to some web devs to spy on their user and use the information for their own gain. The other problem is that this system can lead to glitches for web devs. It locks changes made to a website by accident, leading to things being permanent on the web. This can also be a problem for users in some situations.
How to Clear Your Cookies

Luckily there is a fail-safe to this system that allows you to delete your cookies and get rid of all your activity on that website. Clearing your Browser Cache along with all of your cookies is sometimes hard to understand, however, with these few steps, you should be good to go!
- 1. Open your computer, then go to whatever browser you use
- 2. search for a dropdown with three lines or dots
- 3. Click More tools and then Browsing data/history, this should take you to a place where you can see all the websites that you’ve visited
- 4. Go up to wherever it says Time Range and click All Time
- 5. In the checkboxes, check Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files
- 6. Click Clear data
And there you go, now you know how to delete your cookies and Browser Cache. Hopefully, this helps you safely explore the internet at your leisure. Have a great day and remember to stay safe on the internet these days. (P.S.: If you’re that one person who knew how to do this and read to the end anyway I have two things to say to you. First of all, thanks for reading this far, second of all, go get some help. You also might like these).
